WASTE MANAGEMENT

Abandoned Waste

Santa Ana, California

A commercial property manager found that a tenant had moved, and left a number of 55-gallon drums filled with unknown waste.  EDFA conducted an inventory of the drums and sampled each to identify and segregate the drummed waste for disposal.  EDFA provided supervision for over-packing of leaking drums and used analytical results from the drum waste analyses to identity appropriate recycling and disposal facilities.  EDFA over-saw the drum pick ups, and tracked all hazardous waste manifests on behalf of our client.

Benefit to Client: Waste containers were quickly evaluated, and organized into “like waste” groups.  Leaky containers were placed into containment, thus preventing the further release of hazardous material and minimizing damage to the property.  The waste materials were quickly characterized and moved off site, permitting the new tenant to take possession of the building on schedule.
